Capturing Smiles {Sacramento Family Photographer}

I am a big fan of community and giving to others. What goes around truly does come around and even if it doesn’t, what harm could ever come in knowing you’ve given of yourself to others for the greater good? In believing this, I take joy in donating complimentary photo sessions for charitable auctions or other causes. This past winter my son’s school had a pancake breakfast and I was happy to donate a Custom Mini-Session for auction. While selling raffle tickets at the breakfast (go PTO mom’s everywhere!) I struck up a conversation with a sweet mom desiring a family session and inquiring about pricing. I explained the session options I offer and let her know she could even bid on a mini-session at the auction that day. She was so excited she rushed right over and wrote her first bid! I enjoyed seeing her excitement and anticipation of hopefully winning the session and was happy to find out at the end that she was the winner.

In planning our session this lovely mom was a little nervous about her shy younger daughter and warned me she never smiles for pictures and it was for that reason they didn’t have any current family photos. I told her not to worry about it and we would do our best to capture some smiles.

About 5 minutes into the session guess what popped up? A beautiful smile from that younger daughter! It came from her so quickly and she continued bringing them the whole session – such a little cutie! We had a great time finding locations that both mom and dad liked and I couldn’t have been happier with the fun the 5 of us had on this gorgeous summer night!
